Scottsdazzle

Starting at Thanksgiving and running until New Year’s Day each year, Scottsdazzle is a month-long holiday celebration in Old Town Scottsdale, with events and happenings for the entire family. The 2020 Scottsdazzle will be a little different than past years, but the holiday spirit is still there! Come celebrate the holidays as Old Town metamorphoses into a winter wonderland.

Events

Events vary a bit from year to year, but there’s always Santa, elves, dazzling lights and brightly decorated trees, and plenty of holiday-themed fun. Events in the past have included the arrival of Santa, festive Tea Parties, Tree Lighting Ceremonies and Carol Sing-alongs, the Feliz Navidad Festival, Nutcracker performances along 5th Avenue, bouncy houses and carriage rides. The festival always includes plenty of kid and family-friendly events, food and wine events and holiday-themed activities. Many events have free admission too.

Events for 2020 include Holiday Movie Night, the annual Letters to Santa Drop Off, Merry Make & Take (a chance to make your own holiday keepsake and have a little fun crafting), Holly-Jolly Painting Party, and a Sparkle & Spin Scavenger Hunt. This year’s food and drink events include the Festive Food Demonstration, the Seasonal Charcuterie Teach & Taste, and Brewdazzle at Goldwater Brewing Co. And, new this year, The Dazzle of Old Town is a celebration of past holiday traditions that starts off with an hour-long storytelling session. And it wouldn’t be Scottsdazzle without yoga. Participate in the popular Sun Salutations Yoga and Yuletide Yoga to get in a little relaxation before the holidays.

Holiday Spirit

Even if you don’t attend any of the scripted events, you can still enjoy Scottsdazzle. You and your partner can stroll through Old Town, hot chocolate or mulled wine in hand, enjoying the holiday lights and decorations on every storefront, while you listen to Christmas carols. Pick up that last minute gift, and then pick up some take-out from one of the local restaurants. Head back to your lovely Scottsdale rental to enjoy your meal in front of the fire pit or while watching your favorite holiday movie classic.

Old Town merchants will be putting out their best effort and holiday spirit just for you, and we all certainly appreciate your support of local businesses. Shop local, shop small has never meant more. Spend some time in Old Town, and you’ll be in the holiday spirit in no time.
