A week-long vacation offers you plenty of time to truly experience your destination—so much time that it might become a bit overwhelming trying to sift through all the various options to put together that dream vacation. If you find this the case, you are sure to be relieved to find we did much of the hard work for you and put together a guide to a seven-day trip to Scottsdale. Read on and see what lies in wait for you!

Day 1-3: Explore the City

Considering the large size of not just Scottsdale but the Phoenix area as a whole, you’ll find that there is never a shortage of things to do or sights to see. For instance, one could head on over to OdySea Aquarium, which features a variety of unique and interactive exhibits for you to truly come to appreciate the creatures of the deep. You are sure to find the Seatrek a unique experience as you go under the water via a special helmet and explore the underwater world. One could also head on over to Wonderspace if one is seeking to explore the more creative side of the area. You’ll find that this isn’t your normal art gallery, but instead features a number of unique exhibits and works of art. For instance, you might enjoy being the art model with Human Study #1, where you can enjoy being drawn by a robot. One also might enjoy heading over to iFly, which will have you experiencing the thrill of sky diving from the safety of a vertical wind tunnel. One could also check out Casino Arizona, which features all of your favorite games of chance but also hosts a variety of other entertainment options, from tribute bands to bingo to celebrations for the new year.

Day 4-5: Enjoy the Desert

Of course, while the city hosts all manner of activities, you’d be doing yourself a great disservice not to spend some time exploring the many trails that can be found in the area. For instance, there is of course the famous Camelback Mountain for those looking for a short but strenuous hike. You’ll find that despite the difficulty, this trail is well worth it, as upon reaching the peak, you’ll find a fantastic view of the urban area below. One could also head on over to the Sunrise Trail, which features several viewpoints along a 4.9-mile point-to-point trail. You’ll enjoy breathtaking views, a good hike, and might even see some of the local wildlife. If one is looking for a more laid-back hike, one might like to head over to the Hole in the Rock Trail at Papago Park. This is a much easier nature walk at only 0.3 miles. However, upon reaching the end, you’ll find a great photo opportunity as you gaze out of the natural hole in the wall and over the park with its many lagoons and golf courses. One could even enjoy Tom’s Thumb Trail, which is somewhere in the middle of these, featuring a 4-mile out-and-back trail. You’ll find that in the spring it’s the perfect place to go as the wildflowers are blooming and the already great views gain the colors of an artist’s palette.

Day 6-7: Enjoy the Local Breweries and Cuisine

Of course, you’ll find a large plethora of different restaurants and eateries, each presenting the best that the local chefs have to offer. For example, for those looking for an intimate dining experience, head to Reserve. This fine dining establishment features a 12+ course chef’s tasting menu which features everything from Chilean sea bass to wagyu steak, chocolate caramel cake, and everything in between! There is also the Grass Roots Kitchen and Tap for those who are looking for a good lunch or dinner. This family owned and operated eatery features a variety of Southern influenced cuisine, all of which is made from scratch. You’ll find such items as ground burrata, pork belly, shrimps and grits, and many other local favorites.

As well, you’ll find that the area is home to a wide variety of different breweries, tasting rooms, and vineyards. You might enjoy heading on over to the Wren House Brewing Company, which won the 2020 Great American Beer Festival and was voted the Best Craft Beer of 2020. You’ll find such notable brews as the Spellbinder IPA, the Jomax (an oatmeal stout), and the Fire Battel (Imperial Stout). One could also head on over to the Shop Beer Co., which was named the best of Phoenix 2020 and truly embraces creativity with their award-winning brews. For instance, you might enjoy the Crispy (Blonde Lager), or the Wizard of the West (West Coast IPA), or even the Whale in Space (Hazy IPA).
