Spend the Day at the New Serenity Spa

You can see stress written on people’s faces. That is why it is great to get a massage and facial to help rejuvenate your skin, feel better about yourself, and look better. All in all, getting a massage and facial is a prime way to relax, gain self-confidence, and de-stress from negative energy and toxins.

At Serenity Spa, you can get a Miracle Facial, Serenity Facial, Oxygen Facial, or Hydrafacial based on your skin type and specific needs. We recommend getting the Serenity Facial, which includes a skin analysis, cleanse, steam, toner, exfoliating mask, massage, anti-aging products, and warm lavender towels to help you relax.

After a refreshing facial, you can then book in a massage of your choice, like the Serenity Massage or Couple’s Massage with your loved one. The Serenity Massage is a popular service that includes a full body massage, long strokes, gentle pressure, warm towels, sugar scrub, scalp massage, and medium pressure to help your muscles recover.

Grab a Book at The Poisoned Pen Bookstore

During a rare rainy or cold day in Scottsdale, it can be wholesome and fulfilling to go to a local bookstore and pick up a novel, read a magazine, or just sit curled up in the bookstore with a hot drink as you watch the rain fall outside. Head to this prime bookstore on Goldwater Boulevard to help an independent fiction bookshop and chat with the owner.

This bookstore offers tons of stories that are sure to have you turning the pages one by one for hours on end. We love sitting here inside of the cozy bookstore to take a break from walking around, shopping, and visiting restaurants.

Enjoy a Cup of Coffee

There are tons of cafes in Scottsdale that are perfect for sitting and reading a book, enjoying a hot cup of coffee on a cold day, or sipping on an iced coffee drink during the heat of the summer. We love Press Coffee at Scottsdale Waterfront to get incredible views and enjoy the pristine filter coffee.

Or head to FourtillFour for some of the best chai in the entire state. We also love Red Canyon Cafe in Old Town, where we enjoy a strong cup of coffee with a filling bagel sandwich that is reminiscent of New York. The possibilities for cool cafes to relax are truly endless.

Go for a Nice Nature Walk

Scottsdale is right on the edge of some of the best nature in the entire state, including desert trails, easy paths, biking roads, and much more. If you want to go on a relaxing path that provides great views without breaking a sweat, we love the Kovach Family Nature Trail, Fraesfield Loop Hike, Bootlegger and Granite Mountain Loop, and the Saguaro Loop.

The Kovach Family Nature Trail is one of the top choices for those with younger kids who want a flat and fast hike, taking in the far-reaching sights. We love this hike since it walks us through different cacti on firm ground that is ADA accessible and perfect for walkers or strollers.

The Fraesfield Loop Hike takes you from the ‘Whiskey Bottle’ to Black Hill and back, formulating an easy 1.6-mile loop that brings you to an elevated lookout, crosses shallow rivers, brings you past the Granite Mountain, and provides the perfect vantage point for the changing colors in spring and fall.

Furthermore, the Bootlegger and Granite Mountain path is an easy trail that is less than 3 miles total, ensuring you can finish this path in one hour or less. We love this hike for a post-dinner walk to see the cacti, check out the desert scenery, and enjoy the bright blue skies.

Lastly, the Saguaro Loop and Nature Trail is perfect for learning more about the environment and burning a few calories during your relaxing vacation.
