Short Leash Hotdogs & Rollover Donuts

HomeFavoritesScottsdale ActivitiesDiningShort Leash Hotdogs & Rollover Donuts

Hot dogs and donuts. Not something you’d naturally put together, but it works, especially for Short Leash Hotdogs & Rollover Donuts. This family and dog-friendly spot serves made-from-scratch brioche-style doughnuts and fresh brewed coffee as well as gourmet hotdogs and craft beer.

Short Leash Hot Dogs in Phoenix offers dine-in, both inside and on their back patio (depending on pandemic restrictions). The cute interiors are decorated with pictures of the staffs much beloved furry friends. They have live music on weekends and you can play billiards or foosball while you wait for your dogs and donuts.

The Dogs!

Signature dogs are named after staff’s pet dogs, and each all-natural dog is covered in a different combination of flavors. Beef, bratwurst, jalapeno cheddar, and veggie are just a few dog options. These aren’t skimpy little grocery store dogs either; these hot dogs are big, and they’re served on soft naan, not the usual white hotdog buns.

A few of your dog options are the Lady (chipotle cream cheese, sautéed onions, and fried pickles), Poutine (French fries, cheese curds, and gravy), and the Bear (peanut butter, Gouda, bacon, BBQ, and crackerjacks). Special dogs include the Pretzel Dog, and the Crispy Dog (a jalapeno cheese stuffed dog fried in a corn tortilla, covered in dragon sauce).

Starters include their popular Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Pickles, and Cauliflower Wings. Fried Cheese Curds, Chicken Wings, Jalapeno Poppers and Bacon Wrapped Poopers are a few more options. There are a couple of salads too.

Plus, Short Leash Hot Dogs has loaded fries! Their most popular is the Poutine/Gravy/Cheese Curds, but you can even create your own combo! And they have over 80 craft beers to pair perfectly with your gourmet dog.

The Doughnuts!

If you want to order donuts, get there early and order them straight away—they go fast! Classic Flavors include Powdered Sugar, Cinnamon Sugar, and Chocolate with Sprinkles. Fancy Flavors include Maple + Walnut, Key Lime + Coconut, and Lemon + Turmeric + Poppy Seed. Then there are the Filled & Fancy doughnuts like the Spicy Thai Coconut donut, Black & Blue Jam with Lavender Sugar, and Bourbon Cream Filled with Brown Butter Icing.
