Opened in 2020, the Belly Kitchen and Bar is situated in a small, historic building in Phoenix. Be sure to plan a visit to one of the top restaurants in Phoenix, AZ during your stay in Scottsdale!

The Belly Overview

In what originally was a vehicle garage, The Belly has situated the kitchen and front patio on the first floor with a small dining room and bar on the second. There is also a roof top bar where you can enjoy your fresh cocktails and a great view. The industrial vibe is still present, all the grease and oil is long gone. The block walls are painted a bright white, and the dinner ware and glass ware gleams.

Focusing on Southeast Asian inspired cocktails, with fruit and citrus, the Belly serves up drinks that are refreshing as well as interesting. Food was never intended to be the star here, but it shines too.

The Belly Menu

Customer favorites include the Pan Mi-Cha Lua (the Belly’s Ban Mi), any and all of their Fried Rice. This menu has Vietnamese and Asian dishes with a few Southwestern twists. The menu is very vegan and vegetarian friendly.

Besides offering a selection of Rolls and Pan Mi, there are Braised Claypot options of Jackfruit & Crispy Tofu, Turmeric Chicken Thighs, Pork Belly & Egg and Lambshank. House Specialties include Pork & Pickled Mustard Greens Fried Rice, Jackfruit Fried Rice and Crispy White Fish. Recent daily specials have included Pan Seared Icelandic Cod in Green Coconut Curry, and Vermicelli Pho Ga with fried shallots.

Pair your meal with wine, beer, iced tea and Tractor (an organic soda pop and Horchata. And of course, you must order one or more of the Belly Cocktails. Try their TBT, Saigon Heat, Burn A Debt and the Say When – a combination of Bourbon, blended rum, pear shrub, bay leaf, black peppercorn with mint and lemon.

The Belly has weekly in-house specialty sodas and drinks too. Past soda specials have included the Peardon Moi, a tasty blend of pear and pepper shrub, hibiscus, ginger juice, cardamom bitters, sparkling water with a topping of fresh cracked pepper.
