Original Chop Shop

The Original Chop Shop is one of many health-food establishments located in Scottsdale. However, unlike many eateries that feature the same items over and over, this restaurant stands out for its innovative kitchen. Additionally, the OG Chop Shop features locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, but one thing guests can always rely on is the fresh bread delivered daily by some of Arizona’s best bakers. Without a doubt, it is one of the best spots in Old Town Scottsdale to enjoy not only a deliciously creative meal, but a nutritious and vitamin-packed one as well.

Big Bowls

In the ultra-health conscious community of Scottsdale, many residents seek a nutritious bite to eat after performing anything physical around town. The menu features three sections, which include grilled protein bowls, sandwiches and chopped salads. All of the bowls at Chop Chop in Scottsdale come with a medley of vegetables such as roasted broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrot and mushroom. Next, choose a sweet potato hash, quinoa or brown rice/forbidden rice then add your choice of protein. Some of those options include Thai Coconut Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Sweet Soy Sesame Steak, Spicy Korean Steak, Red Chili Lime Shrimp and Green Curry Tofu, all of which make the choice an extremely difficult one.

Superb Sandwiches at Chop Shop in Scottsdale

As mentioned above, the bread at the OG Chop Shop exceeds the standards at most restaurants that use non-local, or processed breads. If you want a different option, the whole wheat and gluten-free wraps are excellent alternatives. The sandwiches feature favorites which include ingredients such as grilled steak, tuna salad, chicken and the traditional club. The Moroccan Turkey highlights the creativity in the kitchen, where in addition to the turkey, you will find roasted red pepper, red grapes, cucumber, avocado and mixed greens slathered in a red-wine vinaigrette/yogurt sauce.

The Chops

In addition to the superb sandwiches and hearty bowls, the kitchen prepares robust chopped salads. Some of the signature options include the Kale Caesar and Danish; the former features a simple blend of kale and romaine tossed in a Lemon-Dijon dressing while the latter offers house greens, smoked almonds, Danish bleu cheese, pear, apple, black currants and dates in a red wine vinaigrette. Diners also have the option to add protein (chicken, tofu, steak, or shrimp) to any of the salads for an additional fee.
