The Mission Old Town Scottsdale

HomeFavoritesScottsdale ActivitiesDiningThe Mission Old Town Scottsdale

Named after the Old Adobe Mission nearby, Mission Old Town serves up Latin cuisine with interesting ingredients that take it to a new level. Come dine with celebrated local chef Matt Carter for delicious and comforting Mexican street food times ten.

Light levels are low and intimate, and crystal chandeliers light the two story dining area. Dine in the main area, the mezzanine, the bar or outside on the deck or patios. Casually elegant is the phrase that comes to mind.

The Meats

One of the things that sets The Mission Old Town Scottsdale apart is that its meats are cooked a la plancha (on a metal plate) or a la parilla (on a grill) using pecan and mesquite wood for a rich, unique flavor. Make it easy on yourself and order one of the customer favorites: Pork Shoulder Tacos with pork cooked with a pineapple and habanero glaze!

The Menu

The Curbside Pickup menu offers two “Family Style Meal” options that each feed four. The pork option includes Pineapple-Habanero Glazed Pork and Crispy Pork Carnitas while the chicken option offers a whole roasted free range chicken. Both come with chips, salsa & guacamole, a salad, rice and black beans. Desert and those yummy handmade tortillas included too.

Or order just what you want a la cart. Start with the Grilled Street Corn or Crispy Pork & Cola Lime Glaze, then move on to one of the popular tacos. Lunch entrees include a Kobe Dog, Cubana Torta and Crispy Fried Chicken Torta and the dinner menu adds Faroe Islands Salmon, Cauliflower Veracruz, and a Tecate Creekstone Skirt Steak Fajita. Sides include White or Black Bean Puree, Chipotle Grits, Roasted Poblano Grits or the popular Oaxacan Cheesy Rice.

The dine-in menu at Mission Old Town expands on the curbside pickup menu with additional entrée choices of Pacific Swordfish, Chorizo Porchetta and Linz Bone-in Ribeye, among others. You can enjoy a chunky guacamole made the way you like it, fresh at your table. And don’t forget dessert. The Pumpkin Bread Pudding is a house specialty, and the Expresso Churros are pretty popular too.

Cocktails and More

Cocktails include the Bitter Bee (Tang, grapefruit juice, agave, lime and basil), the Mission Sour (Mescal, pineapple, agave nectar and egg white), the Mission Margarita, a Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita (tequila, lime, agave, and Green Chartreuse) and an Elderflower Paloma. There are mojitos and mules, sangria and a nice selection of red and white wines. Expand your horizons with the Mission’s Tequila Flight Menu, with eight different pairings.
