It’s the ultimate British bar (Cornish, to be specific) in Scottsdale! Step inside the bar, with its dark wood, padded leather booths, and vintage look wallpaper, and you’ll be transported across the sea. Get ready for pasties and more at Cornish Pasty in Scottsdale, AZ!

History

The first Cornish Pasty Co. location opened in Tempe in 2005 by Cornwall native Dean Thomas. There are locations throughout the area now in Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, downtown Phoenix, and Flagstaff, plus a few outside our dessert community in Las Vegas and Boston.

The pasty originated in the 1200s as an easy-to-hold miner’s dinner and originally each end of the pasty had different fillings. One end had the meat and veggies, the other end held a sweet filling. Luckily, the Cornish miners who immigrated to the US brought the pasty with them.

The Menu

It’s all about the pasties at Cornish Pasty in Scottsdale, and there are over 50 pasties (made from scratch daily) from which to choose! Popular pasties include the Cajun Chicken, Cottage Pie, Bangers & Mash, and the Oggie (the original). Other customer favorites are the Lamb & Mint, Carne Adovada, Chicken Pot Pie, and Lamb Vindaloo. Thomas has taken his grandmother’s original pasty recipe around the world, with interesting choices like the Chicken Greek, Cajun Chicken, the Cubano, and Chicken Tikka Masala. There are veggie pasties (try the Balsamic Portobello pasty) and gluten-friendly pasties too.

You may want to start things out with an appetizer. If so, try a Scotch Egg, Chicken Liver Pate, or a Ploughman’s Plate (there’s plenty for your entire group). And if you need more than pasties on your plate, there are several soups and salads to choose from, including the popular Cream of Leek, Potato and Stilton soups and the popular Beet Salad and a Scotch Cobb (with diced Scotch Egg).

Don’t forget to order dessert! Try a dessert pasty or some Sticky Toffee Pudding—yum!
