Are you in the mood for artisanal beer or two in a beer garden-like setting? Head to the Arizona Wilderness DTPHX Beer Garden. This casual, fun spot has everything you need – hand crafted beers, great food (especially those yummy duck fat fries!), and a great atmosphere. Read on for more info about Arizona Wilderness Brewing in Downtown Phoenix!

The Beer Garden

There’s no better way to enjoy a nice artesian beer or cider with a burger than outside in the lovely desert air. Go ahead and sit outside on the patio, with awnings, fans and misters for those hot desert days and fire pits for the cool desert nights. Or, stay inside in the casual indoor dining room, with a mixture of tables and picnic, family-style tables, which opens up to the patio outside via glass garage doors.

The Beer

Beers on tap at the Beer Garden include State Parks Porter, American Presidential Stout, Barrel-aged Grand Falls (Belgian Brown), DC Mountain (double IPA), Pichacho Pecan Pie (brown ale – English), several ciders and more. There are several refreshing specialty cocktails and frozen drinks on the menu.

You can take some of these great brews home with you too. A few of the choices currently in their online shop include a Peanut Brittle Specialty Ale, State Park Porter, Refuge IPA, Strawberry Sunset Mixed Culture Sour, Bright AngeL Imperial Blonde Ale, and the Point Sublime Foeder Fermented Hazy IPA.

The Food

You may come for the beer the first time, but Arizona Wilderness DTPHX’s food will have you coming back on its own. Customer favorites include their famous duck fat French fries and their tacos. And, they make all their sauces in house, including the ketchup. Not that the fries need ketchup, but home-made ketchup is pretty good.

Menu items include a wide selection of burgers and sandwiches (AZ Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich, Honey Hot Pulled Pork Sandwich, and a black bean burger). Or you can order a few of their popular tacos, or try the sirloin burrito with egg.

If you’ve got a group, and love their famous Duck Fat Fries, try the When Pigs Fly (duck fat fries covered with pulled pork and Wilderness beer cheese), or the Confetti Fries (duck fat fries covered in Wilderness beer cheese, bacon, onion and American Sauce). If you need some green in your diet after all those fries, there are a couple salads on the menu.
