Best Times to Visit Scottsdale

HomeBest Times to Visit Scottsdale

There is no bad time to visit Scottsdale. Any time of the year you head to this beautiful and bustling city, you will find the ability to head out into nature, go shopping in the downtown area, spend time with your loved ones and friends, and chat with locals. But if you are interested in particular activities or things to do, there are certain seasons which are better than the rest.

Spring

Spring is arguably the best time to visit Scottsdale if you are interested in a mixture of outdoor activities, local sports, shopping, and sightseeing. The spring, from March until early June or late May, is the ideal time to head outside to the pool, see MLB Spring Training, go hiking on one of the numerous dirt paths and peak-topping trails, and explore all of the natural areas. Head to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve to see butterflies and go on an easy walk with your kids. You can also head to Camelback Mountain to get amazing views of the nearby red rocks and the town down below.

Summer

If you are interested in watersports and spending time in the early mornings or evenings out and about, the summer might be the best time. The summer offers hot temperatures and strong sun, which is great for swimming, tanning, and going out on a boat, kayak, etc. We love the summer for traveling here with family you we want to go for late night strolls around town and avoid the heat of the middle of the day.

Fall

The fall is a great time to come to Scottsdale if you want to do outdoor activities, like hiking and biking, without the crowds. The temperatures in fall drop to comfortable levels, and you’ll find less throngs of tourists.

Winter

Last but not least, winter is still a great time to head to this beautiful town! The winter brings cooler temperatures, fewer tourists, and more peacefulness than you would find in the busiest tourist times of spring. We love coming here during the winter to go hiking on the nearby trails, shopping at one of the many shopping centers or boutiques, and eat a hot and filling dinner at one of the numerous restaurants in downtown Scottsdale.
